Thursday, August 9, 2018
On Saturday, Aug. 11, at 9 a.m., 35 aircraft will assemble at the former Dyersburg Army B-17 Training Station for this year’s Wings Over Halls Airshow.

World War II warbirds and more recent aircraft will assemble at the former Dyersburg Amy B-17 Training Base on Saturday, Aug. 11, in Halls. Gates open at 9 a.m.

Thirty-five aircraft will be flying a fast-paced show beginning at 1:30 p.m. Skip Stewart will be putting his PTS2 Pitts through maneuvers that will thrill the crowd.

Formations of all the aircraft keep spectators on the edge of their seats.

While it is primarily a flying show, other exhibits include Marine re-enactors; military vehicles; Sherman tank; TN Mobile Innovation Lab with Baxter the Robot and VR Simulator, Kid Wings, Pedal Airplanes, and other activities for the children. The food concessions are the best ever.

For a full-day adventure, come at 9 a.m.; visit the exhibits, the airplanes on the ramp, and the museum before show time. Aircraft rides may be purchased at time on the B-17 ($450); T6 ($350); Helicopter rides ($20-100). This show is unusual in that 2 Corsairs and at least 2 P-51s will be featured.
