The Dyer County YMCA recently welcomed Fred Flenorl as the newest member of its staff. Flenorl is filling the position of membership and fitness director.

“The Dyer County YMCA is that umbrella organization that is here to build a stronger community, and we strive to put the right people in place so they can become the best they can be,” said YMCA Director Randy Butler. “With the help and expertise of people like Fred, we look forward to enhancing our membership and community participation. With each new membership, we are allowed to make more investments back into the community, and we hope to continue to see those numbers grow.”

Flenorl and his wife, Jennifer and two children, Jett and Cannon, are still relatively new to the Dyer County area, making the move from St. Augustine, Fla. to be closer to family.

Flenorl is a 2014 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he received his degree in Health and Human Performance. He is a certified personal trainer, spinning instructor and CPR administrator.

In his new role at the YMCA, Flenorl aims to increase membership and continue to help spread awareness throughout the Dyer County community of the numerous program available to both children and adults through the YMCA.

Driven by his passion for people, Flenorl says his hands-on approach toward fitness and group programs will allow him to make even more impact.

“One of the biggest reason I wanted to work for the Dyer Count YMCA is because of the relationships I knew I would be able to build with the local residents and kids,” explained Flenorl. “I have a strong love and passion for people, and I look forward to being able to take this opportunity to try to help promote health and fitness, while also working to strengthen programs aimed to help children. I expect our membership to grow tremendously, and we are implementing a lot of new programs to encourage that, which will allow people an opportunity to come here and see just what it is we are doing. There are truly amazing things happening here.”
