Cattle Receipts: 1224 Last week: 943 Last year: 895
Compared to the same sale last week, Slaughter cows steady to 1.00
higher. Bulls steady. Steers under 550 lbs 4.00 to 7.00 lower, over 550
lbs steady. Heifers under 500 lbs 1.00 to 5.00 lower, over 500 lbs mostly
steady. Bulls mostly steady. Quality fair to fancy. Demand moderate.
Feeders: 1106 Slaughter: 75 Replacements: 43
Offerings included the following load lots:
68 Heifers, 720 lbs, M&L 1-2, Black/BWF Red/RWF CHX, 5 flesh, $133.75
69 Steers, 788 lbs, M&L 1-2, Black/BWF, 5-6 flesh, $142.75
108 Steers, 940 lbs, M&L 1, Black/BWF Red/RWF CHX, 5 flesh, $133.50
Slaughter cows made up 6 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 1
percent, replacement cows 5 percent, and feeders 88 percent. The feeder
supply included 53 percent steers, 38 percent heifers, and 9 percent
bulls. Near 42 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
