City and county schools to remain closed through April 24

On Tuesday, the Dyersburg City and Dyer County school systems announced they would remain closed through April 24, following Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s recommendation.

A joint statement issued by Dyer County Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Lusk and Dyersburg City Schools Director Neel Durbin on Tuesday is as follows:

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Lee has recommended all schools in the state remain closed through April 24. Dyer County Schools and Dyersburg City Schools will abide with the wishes of the administration. The county-wide feeding program will continue along with assignments for students. The administration of Dyer County Schools and Dyersburg City Schools will have further statements tomorrow (Wed. March 25).”
