Following an employee testing positive for COVID-19, the Dyer County Clerk’s Office closed its doors until further notice Wednesday afternoon, June 24. Dyer County Clerk Diane Moore notified the State Gazette Friday morning that a second employee had also tested positive, but following a deep cleaning of the office on Thursday, Moore said she was hopeful the building would reopen on Monday, July 6.

“We now have 2 employees to test positive for COVID-19. We closed on the recommendation of the health department in Jackson, and the office was disinfected Thursday [June 25]. Hopefully, we can reopen the building on July 6,” Moore stated.

Speaking on tag renewals, Moore said the kiosk at Newbern City Hall is ‘going great’. She added individuals can also renew online as two employees will be in the office a few days this upcoming week to process online renewals.

“I apologize for the inconvenience, but this is something we can’t help,” Moore added.
