Four COVID-19 deaths reported in Dyer County

On Monday, July 20, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) released the updated COVID-19 case count for the State of Tennessee. With Monday’s update, TDH reported Dyer County had 4 deaths as a result of the virus, with the county having a total of 373 COVID-19 cases (consisting of confirmed and probable cases) with 211 active cases and 158 recoveries.
Dyer County’s PCR positive test results were listed as 410 with 4,117 PCR negative results.
Statewide, Tennessee’s total case count was reported at 79,754 with 78,970 confirmed, 784 probable, and 45,974 recoveries (58 percent).
Deaths reported in the state were listed at 847 (1 percent), with 816 confirmed and 31 probable.
The TDH reported the total number of tests performed in the state was 1,214,383, with 93,257 resulting in PCR positive tests and 1,121,126 PCR negative tests.
Hospitalizations were listed at 3,712 (5 percent), with those not being hospitalized at 41,994 (53 percent), and 34,048 pending (43 percent).
Shelby County (Memphis) continued to lead the state in total COVID-19 cases with 16,702. Davidson County was second, with the TDH reporting 16,223 total cases.
