TDH reports 256 COVID-19 recoveries for Dyer County, 316 active cases

The Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) COVID-19 update issued on Wednesday, August 5, reported Dyer County had 579 total COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases, as well as 316 active cases and 256 recoveries. Additionally, the report listed Dyer County as having 7 deaths due to the virus.

The PCR positive test results were reported at 645 with PCR negative results coming in at 5,458.

In comparison, last Wednesday, July 29, Dyer County had 459 total cases, 242 active cases, 212 recoveries, and 5 deaths. Yesterday, Aug. 4, the TDH reported Dyer County as having 568 total cases, 312 active, 249 recoveries, and 7 deaths.

As for Tennessee, the statewide total case count on Wednesday was listed as 114,098, with 112,657 being confirmed and 1,441 probable. Statewide recoveries were reported at 75,550 (66 percent).

Total deaths were listed at 1,144 (1 percent), with 1,104 confirmed and 40 probable.

The TDH reported the total number of tests performed in the state was 1,610,604, with 134,738 PCR positive results and 1,475,866 PCR negative tests.

Hospitalizations were reported at 5,001 (4 percent), with 61,383 (54 percent) not being hospitalized and 47,714 (42 percent) cases pending.

Shelby County (Memphis) continued to lead the state in total COVID-19 results at 21,924. Davidson County (Nashville) was second at 19,812 total COVID-19 cases.
