Special to the State Gazette

The Dyer County School System announced Thursday that all county schools will operate under the Phase 3 guidelines until further notice, with the exception being Dyer County High School which will continue to operate under Phase 2 guidelines until fall break.

Dyer County Schools noted a decision would be made during the week of fall break regarding the phase for DCHS for the week of October 12.

In Phase 3 all preschool-8th grade students will attend every day, while under Phase 2, high school students will attend on alternate days.

Masks are optional in Phase 3 unless under a county-wide mandate. During a county-wide mandate, all students are expected to wear a mask on the bus. Students in grades 6-12 are expected to wear masks during times of transition.
