Dyersburg’s Brady Byars signs to play with Dyersburg State Community College

Shortly after his senior season came to a close on the diamond at Dyersburg High School, Trojan senior Brady Byars signed to play at the college level and he won’t have to go far to do it, signing with Dyersburg State recently.

“You know, I’m excited and have been blessed by God the continue my baseball career and my academic career at Dyersburg State,” Byars said of signing with the Eagles. “I’m just excited to keep things going.”

Byars’ had chose to sign with Dyersburg State even before the Eagles postseason run which saw Dyersburg State win the TCCAA postseason tournament.

“I want to be a part of a winning program,” Byars added. “They had a good season this year so I hope to go there and help them continue what they’ve got going.”

Dyersburg Head Coach Zane Mathis talked about what type of player the Eagles are getting in Brady Byars.

“He is an extremely hard worker,” Mathis said. “I am extremely proud of Brady for all the hard work he’s put in throughout his high school career but especially his senior year.

“I’m looking forward to seeing great things for him and seeing him play outfield at Dyersburg State during the 2025 season.”

Mathis said Byars’ leadership has really helped the Trojans.

“He’s worked extremely hard for us and has been a leader,” Mathis said.
