Freedom Celebration hosts community-wide festivities, live music, and fireworks

The 4th of July Freedom Celebration, hosted by the Dyer County Rescue Squad, was held, on Thursday, July 4, at Oakview Park in Newbern at 5 p.m. The fireworks show commenced at dark. The celebration is held for residents of Newbern and Dyersburg, courtesy of community sponsors.

Justin Wright and the Dirty Strings (above) began performing for the crowd at 7 p.m., following the National Anthem and a recital of the Star Bangled Banner (below).

Pictured above, it was all-hands-on-deck for Dyer County Rescue Squad members who were on-site to organize and coordinate events at their annual Freedom Celebration. The organization expressed great appreciation for members of the Lauderdale County Rescue Squad who also came to assist.
