Dyersburg Schools in Phase 2 next week, modified schedule for DHS

The Dyersburg City School System announced Thursday afternoon they would remain in Phase 2 for Dyersburg Primary, Dyersburg Intermediate, and Dyersburg Middle schools, while Dyersburg High School will follow a Phase 2 modified and ACT week schedule for the upcoming week of September 21-25.

DHS:

Tues. Sept. 22

All seniors will be taking the ACT. This will be a seniors only day at school. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be working remotely from home and will be expected to sign in for attendance and be working on Google Classroom assignments from home from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Wed. Sept. 23

Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be taking a practice ACT. This will be the opportunity for Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to meet the college readiness benchmarks required for Honors Banquet. Seniors will be in school remotely from home this day. Seniors are expected to sign in for attendance from home and complete their Google Classroom assignments from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Mon. Sept. 21, Thurs. Sept. 24, Fri. Sept. 25

All Dyersburg High School students will report each day to work toward the goal of continuity of learning.

As part of the Pathway to Recovery Plan, Dyersburg City Schools is in one of four phases based on the spread of COVID-19. To determine the phase for Dyersburg City Schools, those decisions will be made in consultation with the Tennessee Department of Health, school board, and local government. The Director of Schools will make the determination as to the phase in which the school system operates using data from TDH.

Each Thursday afternoon, Dyersburg City Schools will announce the phase for the following school week. The color-coded announcement will be posted on the system website, Facebook page, Twitter page, and Dyersburg City Schools app (Available on the App Store and Google Play). In addition, the announcement will be posted on the Facebook and Twitter pages for Dyersburg Primary School, Dyersburg Intermediate School, Dyersburg Middle School, and Dyersburg High School. Along with the phase announcement, a copy of the Pathway to Recovery will be included.
