Itís been an interesting couple of months for Dyersburg State Athletics and I wish I could say that applies to the basketball court where the Lady Eagles are in fourth place with quite a few games left.

Earlier this week, Dyersburg State confirmed the departure of athletic director Brian Oakes.

This departure comes just a little over two months after longtime head baseball coach Robert White resigned.

The former Eagle skipper (who would have likely passed the 750-win mark this season) was clear in his remarks that Oakes was a major reason for him stepping down.

You can take what you want to from all this but when it all comes down to it, the number of times this athletic director position has been open since Alan Barnett left the job about five years ago is approaching double digits (counting interims).

When it all comes down to it, any dispute between the now former AD and coaches has ended with no winner.

But, Dyersburg State is clearly the loser in all this.
