Roberta “Joyce” Turner (Pennington)

Roberta "Joyce" Turner (Pennington) Roberta Joyce Turner, born Roberta Joyce Pennington, passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 80, in West Bend, Wisconsin. She was born on August 27, 1943, in Butte, Montana, to Roy Eckle Pennington and Anna Mae (Winters) Leisen.

Roberta, known to her loved ones as Joyce, graduated in 1961 from Noblesville High School in Noblesville, Indiana. She dedicated her career to working at Kimberly Clark Corporation in Neenah, WI from 1978 to 1985 and later at Cigna in Irving, TX, working as a claims handler and subrogation claims manager from 1985 until she retired in 2002.

In her free time, Joyce enjoyed quilting, knitting, solving word search puzzles, watching old Elvis videos, and spending time with her dogs, Dexter and Presley. She cherished these hobbies and the joy they brought into her life.

Joyce spent 13 very happy years living in retirement with her husband, friends and neighbors at Robson Ranch in Denton, TX before moving to Dyersburg, TN and then most recently to Slinger, WI. Joyce was a kind, loving, and caring individual. She touched the lives of many with her warm personality and generous heart.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Larry R. Turner, her children James Gregory Lanningham and Paula Kay Bennett, her stepchildren Cathy Hardt, Tim Turner, and Mike Turner, her siblings Judy S. Lee and Gary D. Pennington, her stepsiblings Lori Leisen, Michelle Bailey and Cheryl Sontag as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Roy Eckle Pennington, her mother, Anna Mae (Winters) Leisen, her stepfather Don R. Leisen, and her stepbrother Lyle R. Leisen.

Thank you to Froedtert Hospital and Kathy Hospice of West Bend, WI and the staff who cared for Joyce during her final days. A private family gathering to honor and remember Joyce was held at her home on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Slinger, WI. Joyce will be laid to rest at the "New" St. Peters Cemetery in Slinger, WI. The Shimon Funeral Home in Hartford, WI, is assisting the family.

Joyce will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

Kitty Lou Tubbs

Kitty Lou Tubbs, 64, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tubbs will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Wilford Mobley. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Amanda Walker

Amanda Walker, 71, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Oakwood Community Living Center.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Jim Tom Pilcher with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Gail Waller Horton

Gail Waller Horton, 89, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Canterbury Place.

Graveside services will be private.

The family will receive friends; Friday April 26th, 2024, from 12:00 PM. to 2 P.M. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

Funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 P.M. at the church.
