With the 2024 middle school volleyball season approaching, there will be a new face on the sidelines for the Lady Choctaws out at Three Oaks as former Dyer County High School standout Bailey Leake has been named the new head coach for the team this season.

“I feel very blessed with this new opportunity on coaching the sport that I love,” Leake said. “I am extremely excited for the season and building relationships with the girls and being a leader towards them.

“I'm very honored to be chosen for this position and also to know that Three Oaks Middle School chose me to be accountable for teaching/ coaching something that is my passion.”

Leake credited her time playing for Dyer County Head Coach Shanna O'Bright as a big factor in her being ready to be a head coach at the middle school level.

“I want to recognize Coach O for being a leader to me at Dyer County High School because she has helped me be more knowledgeable in coaching these kids to my best ability,” Leake explained. “The skills that I have been taught in high school by Coach O, gave me the ability to be able to pass them onto the girls at Three Oaks Middle.”

Leake was a member of the first two Lady Choctaw teams to reach the state tournament. In 2022, Leake was named the District 14AA Regular season Most Valuable Player. Leake was also named to the Tennessee Sportswriters Association’s Class AA All-State Team during her senior year.

“We are excited to introduce Bailey Leake as the volleyball head coach for Three Oaks  Middle School,” Three Oaks Middle School Principal Matt Stafford said. “Bailey is a graduate of DCHS where she played for Coach Obright and helped lead the Lady Choctaws to multiple state tournament runs.

“Bailey will continues to build on the program that has been in good hands with Coach Ray and Coach Turnbow and will continue to keep Three Oaks volleyball at the top in the state.”
