Dyersburg boys top Dyer County in rematch

For the second time in seven days, Dyer County traveled to The Farms to meet up with the Trojans and Lady Trojans for a golf match with Dyersburg. This time, the black and gold Trojan boys were able to avenge their loss last week to the orange and white to defeat Dyer County in boys action on Monday afternoon.

The top for Trojan golfers combined for a 167 to outshoot Dyer County by 16 strokes.

John David Morris led the way for the Trojans, shooting a 40 through nine holes to tie for the top medalist honors. Right on his heels were a pair of his teammates, Ryan Wesson and Jace Ellerbrook, who tied for the second medalist by shooting matching 41s. Aydan Jones rounded out the Dyersburg scoring with a 45.

On the Dyer County side of the scoring ledger, Seth LaRue led the way for the Choctaws, shooting a 40 to tie with Dyersburg's Morris for the top medalist honor. Freshman Hoss Harrison came off the course with a 47 while Alton Creasy and Dalton Muncrief each finished the day with a 48 to account for Dyer County's 183 score.

In girls action, Kennedy Hill and Lily Flagg led the way for Dyer County with matching 46s to take first place overall. Dyersburg freshman Stella Madden added a 52 to take second on the day.

Dyer County returns to action on Thursday when the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws travel to Brighton at 4 p.m. Meanwhile, Dyersburg returns to action on Tuesday when the Trojans host Madison Academic and South Gibson at The Farms at 4 p.m. Dyersburg will also face Halls on Thursday at Dyersburg Municipal at 4 p.m.
