The 2024 regular season as well as the Troy Kerber era at Dyersburg Middle School got off to a successful start on Monday evening as the Lady Trojans rallied in the second half to pull away from a 1-1 tie with visiting Dyer County to take a 5-1 win at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

The two teams played to a 0-0 tie for much of the first half before Lady Trojan Fatou Manneh broke the deadlock with a goal at the 20-minute mark.

The DMS lead didn't last very long though as Dyer County's Addison Trout answered with a goal less than a minute later to tie the game.

The 1-1 stalemate lasted into the half.

But, the Lady Trojan offense roared back in the second half behind three goals from Manneh and a late score from Gabby Campbell to take a 5-1 win over the visiting Lady Choctaws.

Lady Trojans Lexy Hardy, Annslee Smith, Hattie Minton, and Jill Meadows assisted on the DMS goals.

DMS returns to the pitch on Tuesday when the Lady Trojans hosts Trenton at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, Dyer County returns to action on Tuesday when the Lady Choctaws travel to Haywood at 5:30 p.m.
