DMS volleyball sweeps Ripley to open season

Having recently rejoined the TMSAA, Dyersburg Middle School's volleyball team got its first journey into fall volleyball underway on Tuesday evening as the Lady Trojans swept Ripley to open the 2024 season.

DMS took the opening set, pulling away late to win the first frame 25-18. The Lady Trojans then completed the two-set sweep by a 25-15 score.

Ally Hinson led the way offensively for the Lady Trojans with 13 aces while Eva Hohneck added eight.

The Lady Trojan junior varsity team also picked up a two-set win, getting a 25-16 win in the first set then clinching the sweep with a 25-9 win in set two.

Haleigh Spoon led the way with 11 aces while Desleign McGuire added nine.

DMS returns to action on Thursday when the Lady Trojans host Inman at 5:30 p.m.
