Three Oaks, Northview sweep in WTAC matchups

The middle school volleyball preseason came to a close for the schools in the Dyer County Schools system on Tuesday night as Three Oaks and Northview took part in the annual West Tennessee Athletic Conference Jamboree at Northview.

During the nearly-three hour long jamboree in Newbern, each game lasted two sets with the regular scoring of 25 points for the win.

Three Oaks opened the evening of volleyball action as the Lady Choctaws from Upper Finley Road took on Haywood in the first game of the night.

Three Oaks took the first set 25-13 when dominated the second frame 25-8 to take the two-set win.

Following the second matchup of the night between Halls and Humboldt, hosting Northview took the court to take on Lake County in the third and final game of the night.

Northview cruised to the first-set win by a 25-9 score. Lake County turned the tide in the second set, jumping out to a 9-4 lead early. The Lady Choctaws from Newbern jumped back into it and took a 13-12 lead on the way to a 25-18 victory in the second set.

Northview returns to action on Thursday, Aug. 22 when they travel to Tiptonville to take on Lake County at 5:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Three Oaks opens its regular season on Monday, Aug. 19 when the Lady Choctaws host Munford at 5:30 p.m.
