Dyersburg scored early and stayed in the game for much of the way through their contest with Madison Academic on Thursday evening at the Dyersburg Soccer Complex but the Lady Mustangs scored three times in each half to take a 6-2 win over the Lady Trojans.

The black and gold girls got on the board early as Meredith Zamzow put the Lady Trojans on top early with a goal to give Dyersburg a 1-0 lead.

But, the Lady Mustangs stormed back with a trio of goals in a five-minute span later in the first half to take a 3-1 lead late in the half.

The Lady Trojans had a chance to cut into the lead before the half but freshman Haddy Manneh's penalty kick was blocked to keep the Madison lead at 3-1 at the half.

Dyersburg was able to get back on the board early in the second half to cut into the Madison lead. A goal by Manneh cut the Lady Mustang advantage to 3-2.

The Lady Mustangs, though, were able to repeat their first-half performance, scoring three times over the rest of the game to take a four-goal win back with them to Jackson.

Dyersburg returns to action on Tuesday when the Lady Trojans travel to Westview at 6 p.m.
