Dyersburg golf opens week with three-way match

The Trojan golf team got the week off to a good start on Monday with a victory in a three-way match at Milan with Gibson County.

Dyersburg was led by overall medalist Ryan Wesson with a 39 on the day while Jayce Ellerbrook and John David Morris each shot 42s. Brett Horner added a 43 to give the Trojans a total team score of 166.

The Trojans' total was 18 points ahead of second-place Milan and 20 ahead of Gibson County.

Lady Trojan golfer Stella Madden, competing as an individual, led the way for the girls with a 48 to take the top medalist honor on Monday.

Dyersburg golf returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 3, when the black and gold travel to Gibson County at 4 p.m.
