Terry Wayne Sanders

Terry Wayne Sanders, 75 of Trimble, Tennessee died on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at his residence in Trimble, Tennessee. Cremation services for Mr. Sanders are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Betty Holt Tickle

Ms. Betty Holt Tickle, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Jackson General Hospital. Betty was born on April 24, 1944, to the late James Edgar (Chig) & Virginia (Sis) Holt. Betty was a long-time member and organist for Spring Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed Gospel music. Over the years, she worked in the pharmacy of Parkview Hospital, the Dyer County Election Commission, with her husband, Dan operating Tickle’s Grocery, and more recently as the secretary of Three Oaks Middle School. Betty truly loved spending time with her family, traveling to see her daughters and grandchildren or attending St. Louis Cardinal games, or fishing with her husband.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Lisa Maas & husband, Steve, of Cookeville, Ginny McCormack of Maryville and Nickie Jowers & husband, Kenny, of Newbern, her sisters Jane Carolyn Heathcott & Sandra Hankins, her grandchildren, Erik Maas, and Jenna Tindle, Rylee McCormack, Chase Fulcher & Kirsten Jowers and one great-grandson, Daniel Perry Tindle. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years, Dan Tickle.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 2, 2024, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. James Branscum. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Erik Maas, Jeff and Tommy Heathcott, Shane Connelly, John Tickle, and Chase Fulcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Maas, Kenny Jowers, and Kirsten Jowers.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or to the ministries of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Stevie Dale Howell

Stevie Dale Howell 46, of Newbern, Tennessee, died August 30, 2024, at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee.

Dewey Lee "Pete" Myers

Dewey Lee "Pete" Myers, 87, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died Friday at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Myers will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Sylvian Frances Phillips

Sylvian Frances Phillips, 81, of Martin, Tennessee, died Thursday at her residence in Martin. Cremation services are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Walter Slayson "Waldo" Hicks

Walter Slayson "Waldo" Hicks, Jr. 65, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on August 30, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Hicks were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment followed in Haynes Memorial Gardens in Tiptonville, Tennessee.
