Choctaw golf takes four-team match at home

The Dyer County Choctaws go their week off to a successful start, taking a match with three visiting teams at Oakview on Tuesday afternoon.
The Choctaws bested second-place Chester County by six strokes to take first place on the day.
Dyer County was led by Hoss Harrison, who shot a 39 to tie for first place overall with Ripley's Ty Crawford. Dyer County's Seth LaRue shot a 40 to take third place.
Dyer County's team combined to shoot 166 on the day to best the Eagles' 172. Obion County Central and Halls also competed in the four-way match.
In girls action, Dyer County came in second place with a 104 and six shots behind winner Chester County. Halls placed third with a 105.
Lady Choctaw Lily Flagg was the third medalist with a 51 on the day.
Dyer County returns to action on Monday when the orange and white head to South Gibson at 8 a.m.
