Local high school bands receive high rankings during Band Invitational

SPECIAL TO THE STATE GAZETTE

What a kickoff to the Dyersburg Trojan and Dyer County Choctaws 2024-25 band competition season! Both local high school bands, and percussion and color guard students took the field at South Gibson County High School for the Band Invitational on Saturday, September 21.

After two to three weeks of grueling band camp in mostly hundred-degree weather, then stunning football spectators at the DCHS vs. DHS halftime show on August 23, both schools brought home some hardware in this first band competition of the season! You can catch both bands at half-time during home games and at competitions on most Saturdays this fall. Contact your local high school for more information about the dates and times of their upcoming performances.
