The fun day in the park featured a presentation from wildlife biologist Bob Tarter and five of his unique friends. Tarter, who started the Natural History Educational Company of the Midsouth in 2005, introduced the students to a Chilean tarantula, Arnold the straw-colored fruit bat, Mitch the albino Burmese python, Calvin the fennec fox and Charlie the red kangaroo.
After Tarter's presentation, children were treated to booths offering popcorn, face painting, a petting zoo, nutritional education, throwing games and parachute fun.
