Walk Across Tennessee Awards

Dyer County's 2013 Walk Across Tennessee wrapped up with an awards ceremony at the Dyersburg Mall on Thursday, April 4. In just six weeks, 122 teams consisting of 1,217 participants logged nearly 110,000 miles in Dyer County's ninth annual Walk Across Tennessee initiative, enough to circle the earth 4.41 times. Local cheerleaders opened the celebration with a demonstration, with those attending also treated to recognition, certificates and medals for making movement a priority over the past six weeks. Emcee Beth Bell encouraged WAT participants to keep moving in the coming months. Healthy refreshments were also available.
