MLK Jr. Day celebrated on Courthouse steps

Organizers of the 2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in Dyer County took advantage of the sunshine and warmer temperatures to hold the annual event on the Courthouse steps. The event included a march from the Future City community, an invocation, the National Anthem, the Black National Anthem and a joint proclamation from Dyer County Mayor Richard Hill and Dyersburg Mayor John Holden, words of encouragement from pastor Moddie Sesson and a luncheon hosted by New Womack Temple CME Church.
