Winter weather outbreak plays catalyst to multiple wrecks and traffic delays (2/1/23)The winter storm that rolled through West Tennessee Monday, Jan. 30 created road conditions that resulted in multiple vehicular accidents and traffic delays throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, both lanes of the Mississippi River Bridge were closed Monday at approximately 9:22 p.m. following multiple vehicle crashes. On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the bridge was reopened for travel; however, long delays were experienced with more crashes reported along Highway 55 in Missouri.

TBI investigates officer-involved shooting in Dyer County (1/30/23)On January 29, the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 136 Carrie Street. The suspect, Terry Noel, 50, of Dyersburg fled the scene and was later located by deputies on Beaver Rd. According to the DCSD, the suspect had a handgun in his possession. Deputies reportedly attempted to disarm Noel for over an hour before he reportedly fired the weapon at a deputy, who returned fire, fatally wounding Noel.
