James Boxley indicted for same shootings as brother

A Dyersburg man was indicted Oct. 8 by a Dyer County Grand Jury on four counts of aggravated assault in connection with shootings for which his brother was previously indicted. James O. Boxley, 25, of 100 Lyte Circle, Apt. B, Dyersburg, was among 147 people indicted by the October term of the grand jury. Tax receipts fall again

Mayor Bill Revell said Monday that sales tax revenues for the month of September fell by 8.5 percent compared to the same month last year, or about $61,000. Revell explained that he has been tracking the monthly tax revenue reports, and they have been steadily below last year's figures. Railroad repair work slated

The Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen gave the green light Monday night for repair of the railroad in the city's industrial park by Memphis Railroad Service Company. The track was in such a state of disrepair that last year a car derailed. Much of the cost of the project will be defrayed by a TIPS grant totaling $446,000, which was recently approved.
