Woman sentenced to probation in assault

A Dyersburg woman pleaded guilty in Oct. 9 to assaulting another woman after a Dec. 2 basketball game and was sentenced to serve 11 months, 29 days of probation. Latasha Atkins, 19, of 138 Pease Ave., was initially charged with two counts of aggravated assault stemming from an altercation involving two other women at the Family Living Center of the Dyer County Fairgrounds, but the charge was amended to simple assault because no weapon was ever found, District Attorney General Phil Bivens told Dyer County Circuit Judge Lee Moore.. ...
