Monday morning saw another problem for the State Route 78/Lake Road extension project. A backhoe struck and ruptured a 12-inch water main that feeds the sprinkler system to the PolyOne plant, forcing the line to be shut down for 24 hours while city crews repaired the damage. It was just one more headache for Dyersburg City Engineer Kenneth Ladd delivered by a project that has had "migraine" written all over it...

Ok, Tennessee's victory at Alabama was impressive. The fact that the Vols added wrinkles against an innovative coach was even more impressive. But will the Vols be playing for the national title this year? I hardly think so. Even BCS is a stretch, but reachable if the right things happen. I'm not going to bore myself by looking at the possible scenarios that the Vols could encounter to reach a Rose Bowl berth...
