Man charged with robbery, burglary

An 18-year-old Dyersburg man was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated robbery. Marcus Randolph, of the 1600 block of Phillips Street, is alleged to have entered an apartment on Compress Street at about 5 a.m. Thursday, pointed a gun at a woman's head and demanded money. The woman told police she gave the intruder $500 and he left. Although the intruder wore socks over his hands and pulled his shirt over his mouth, the victim said she knew it was Randolph, according to a police report...

Cocaine plea draws five-year prison sentence

A Dyersburg man scheduled for trial next week on cocaine charge pleaded guilty Tuesday in Dyer County Circuit Court and was sentenced to serve five years in prison. Wilmon Sonny Moses III, 26, of 917 Tucker St., had expected his brother, a co-defendant, to testify that the drugs involved in his arrest belonged to his brother, but after listening to a tape of the testimony of his brother under oath when he was sentenced last month, Wilmon Moses decided to plead guilty...
