The Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted Monday night to effectively raise the property tax rate for this year by deciding not to abide by the state's certified tax rate. Because most property's appraised valuation has been increased by a state-mandated re-evaluation, most property owners will pay higher property taxes for this year, even though the tax rate of $1.57 per $100 of assessed valuation will remain the same as last year. ...

Landfill permit expected to be issued for land near Four Points
