After paying restitution, woman sentenced to three years' probation

A Dyersburg woman with a lengthy criminal history of financial crimes was sentenced last week to serve three years of probation after she paid restitution for her latest charges. Kimberly J. Etheridge, 26, of 706 St. John Ave., was sentenced to the term of supervised probation by Dyer County Circuit Court Judge Lee Moore after he had continued her sentencing hearing for a week to permit her to pay the restitution...

Last week a great book arrived in the mail that I bought over ebay.com. Titled "The Great River," it is an 1887 book by Williard Glazier, who discovered the source of the Mississippi River. The 441-page book is more or less a rambling chronicle of Glazier's trip down the Mississippi, from Lake Itasca, Minn. to Head of Passes, La., where the muddy water melds into the salty blue of the Gulf of Mexico...
