Mark Norris, R-Collierville, told area human resource professionals in Dyersburg Monday. Juvenile charged in animal cruelty case on probation when arrested

The juvenile arrested last week on several charges connected with the torture and killing of animals from the Dyer County High School agriculture property was on probation for a misdemeanor crime in November. According to records from the Dyer County Juvenile Court Youth Services office, the boy, 12, was in the fifth month of a six-month probation period. The Dyersburg High basketball season ended only a week ago and workmen are already in the school's gymnasium beginning what DHS administrators hope will be a makeover of the facility.
