Tiptonville Guard unit gets orders for active duty

The 1171st Transportation Company in Tiptonville on Wednesday received mobilization orders to report to active duty on Dec. 17. Guard communications director Randy Harris said the unit's mission or final destination is unknown. "They are tentatively scheduled to move to their mobilization site at Fort Campbell, Ky. on or about Dec. 21, 2003," said Harris. "We cannot speculate on when, where, what their mission is, or for how long the unit may be deployed."...
