Man indicted in bludgeoning murder case

The suspect accused in the bludgeoning death of a RoEllen man on Nov. 9 was among the 54 local residents indicted Tuesday by the Dyer County Grand Jury in its December session. Terry L. Noel, 31, of the 3000 block of Welch Road near RoEllen, was indicted on two counts in the murder of Billy E. Coleman. The first count is for killing the 78-year-old great-grandfather "in the perpetration of or an attempt to perpetrate a robbery."...

Soldiers from the Newbern unit of the 1174th Transportation Company were expected to step from a C-130 cargo aircraft at 5 a.m. this morning at Fort Campbell, Ky. after leaving Kuwait - and almost a year in Iraq - 16 hours earlier Military officials did not know when the unit would be released for an expected four-day liberty, but it is thought to be within a week of their return.
