Bids for rebuilding Newbern water system OK'd

The Newbern City Board last night awarded bids totaling $622,588.52 for rebuilding the city's water system in a special called meeting. Brotcke Well & Pump Inc. of Fenton, Mo. was the low bidder to drill four wells, with a $348,403 price.
