In 1966 Joe Denning walked into the Dyersburg High School gymnasium for his first basketball practice of the season. With his whistle and notebook he was prepared for a tough opening session. However, it wasn't just another ordinary practice. Denning was embarking on new territory for Dyersburg and West Tennessee.
