Police investigating rash of vandalism

Dyersburg police are investigating a rash of vandalisms that occurred over the weekend that included car and building windows being shot out. According to police reports, over Friday night individuals telephoned in reporting that 15 car windows and one business window had been damaged by vandals using "a steel ball bearing that was fired from some type of device." County commission asked to restrain delivery

The Dyer County Commission was asked Monday night to restrain the publisher of the Dyersburg News from having the newspaper thrown in yards if residents do not request it. Fred Bell told the commission he considers the free newspaper to be litter. "We have an anti-littering policy in Dyer County and I question why the Dyersburg News is allowed to throw unwanted papers in our yards," he said. "The Dyersburg News is a shopper and should not be allowed to litter our city and county."...
