Predatory lending bill targets shady mortgage lenders

Predatory lenders who exploit homeowners' gullibility are the targets of a bill that has passed the state Senate and now is being considered by the House. "This bill has to do with predatory mortgage lenders," said state Rep. Craig Fitzhugh, D-Ripley, a prime sponsor of the bill that is part of Gov. Phil Bredesen's legislative package. State working with IRS to find illegal tax shelters
