If you were a member of the Dyersburg Area Community Concert Association last year and you haven't renewed your membership for the 2004-05 year, you're time is quickly running out. Aug. 16 is the deadline to renew memberships. A membership to the DACCA provides admittance not only to the concerts held in Dyersburg but also to the reciprocal cities of Union City and Murray, Ky., a total of 12 concerts. ...

Veterans' Museum scheduled to open in October

Federal historic preservation-grant applications available

The Tennessee Historical Commission is accepting grant applications for historic preservation projects for the 2004-2005 fiscal year. The federally funded grants will be available after Oct. 1. Applications will be rated and ranked. Decisions on those to be funded will be made when the exact amount of the allocation is known. This normally occurs by December, but if Congress is unable to agree on a budget, it may be as late as next spring...

Loose dogs creating problems, endanger children waiting for bus

City cuts off gas to Dyer Fabrics

The city of Dyersburg cut off natural gas services to Dyer Fabrics on Tuesday after the company failed to pay a utility bill estimated to be between $25,000 and $30,000, according to city attorney John Lannom.
