City teachers reap honors

Teachers in the Dyersburg school system were recognized this week for the honors they received throughout the 2004-05 academic year. Dyersburg Intermediate School teacher Terri Kay Pike was awarded a check for $25,000 for her work in literacy and "reading recovery" by the Milken Family Foundation, which is based in Southern California. During Dyersburg High School's annual Scholarship Day ceremonies last week, 94 senior students were offered a grand total of $2,535,472 in scholarship funds.
