Fireworks display rescheduled

The annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration in Dyersburg was a washout Monday night as powerful thunderstorms swept over Dyer County dumping a half-inch of rain in the city and sending would-be spectators to the safety of their homes. Fireworks enthusiasts need not fear, however, the show will go on. Mobile home reported stolen

The Dyer County Sheriff's department is on the lookout for a mobile home reported stolen on Saturday. A neighbor told police that he came home from work one day and it was gone. Sibling rivalry ends in stabbing

A fight between two 15-year-old brothers resulted in one teen-ager getting stabbed in the back on Sunday evening. The fight began as an argument over use of the telephone. One of the brothers picked up a knife and threw it at his brother, striking him in the head. The brother then threw the knife back at his brother. Hospital to begin ER construction this month

Bank robbery suspects' deaths ruled suicide by coroner

The deaths of two bank robbery suspects, one a Dyersburg native, was determined to be the result of suicide, the Associated Press reported. David Wayne Perry, 41, of Dyersburg, and Cory Neal Battles, 37, of Memphis, led police on a high-speed chase from Indiana to Kentucky on Friday.
