New city court clerk named as bid for former orphanage approved

Citizens to report child abuse of face fine

Tennesseans who are aware of child abuse and fail to report it are liable to prosecution and a fine of $2,500. "We've never prosecuted anyone for failing to report child abuse because we get excellent cooperation from the school systems and from medical practitioners," said Dyer-Lake County District Attorney General Phil Bivens. "But if a parent was aware of a spouse or anyone else abusing a child and didn't report it, we'd prosecute them."...
