Judge's ruling could halt plans for Stokes Creek

A federal judge has ruled that Stokes Creek is a part of the original West Tennessee Tributaries Program. The ruling has the power to officially end efforts to restore the creek's meandering channel and to revive more natural floodplain drainage. As part of the WTTP, any work done on Stokes Creek must meet the provisions of a 1985 court order.
