Planners recommend biodiesel manufacturing be permitted in zones

Biodiesel manufacturing facilities could be placed in I-2 zones in Dyer County if the county commission approves a recommendation made Thursday by the county's regional planning commission. "These plants all use a strong alcohol, most often methyl alcohol in the manufacturing process," state planner Nathan Willingham told planning commission members. County Commission authorizes purchase

Dyer County was authorized Monday night by the county commission to buy the former Edenton-Lamb property on S. Mill Avenue in Dyersburg. The purchase price is $237,500 less than half the property's appraised value of $572,000 on county tax books.
