City officer posted bond for suspect arrested for drunk driving

A Dyersburg city officer posted bond Thursday for the man who minutes earlier had been reported to police by city workers for being drunk at City Hall. Dyersburg City Planner Gleyn Twilla posted a $500 cash bond for Eddie H. Owens, 66, who was arrested at 4 p.m. on Feb. 16 by Dyersburg Police for driving under the influence. Owens also was charged with violation of the implied consent law after failing field sobriety tests. Owens refused a breath alcohol test...

Board votes to shoulder $284,000 for activity center

City board agrees to amend airport contract

The Dyersburg City Board agreed Tuesday night that $407,000 in improvements made to the Dyersburg Regional Airport by Monte Warne was essentially in-kind payments and waived his $30,000 annual fee after this budget year. Instead, the city will receive a 10-cent-per-gallon surcharge on fuel sales, which currently amounts to about $12,500 annually, but is expected to climb in the years ahead. ...
