Dyersburg named as Main Street community

Dyersburg was certified on Friday a new member of the Tennessee Main Street Program in recognition of its efforts to revitalize the Downtown area. City seeks ban on water well-drilling

Dyersburg's city board will consider a new ordinance that bans private water wells or springs inside the city limits and demands that landowners who have ponds on their property that are declared unsafe, clean or purify them. Jeff Moore, supervisor of water plants, described the water well ban as preventive in nature. Newbern opens bids for water treatment plant

Dyersburg construction company Waterserv submitted the low bid to construct Newbern's new water treatment plant. The bids were opened Thursday at the Newbern Municipal Courtroom.
