Hearing set Thursday on Reelfoot spillway, bridge

A public hearing on the Reelfoot Lake bridge and spillway replacement project is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6. The hearing will be held in Ellington Hall, which is located in the Reelfoot Lake State Park visitor center on Highways 21/22. Sells sues bank for breach of contract over lines of credit

Dyersburg businessman Darrell Sells and family members Friday filed a lawsuit against First Tennessee Bank for breach of contract in connection with lines of credit. The stray black bear captured in Paris on Thursday was very likely the only bear roaming West Tennessee, despite reports of a second bear, according to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency biologist Alan Peterson. Peterson believes the sightings of a second bear were "just a discrepancy in descriptions."...
