The statewide Amber alert that has come to be recognized as a life-saving mechanism for abducted children is typically only used in certain circumstances, although some feel it should be used more than it is. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson says Amber alerts are used only when a child under the age of 17 is in imminent danger of bodily injury or death. They are not always abductions, but any Amber alert has to meet certain criteria, she said...

Upgraded truck inspection station opens on I-155

An expanded and redesigned inspection station opened Tuesday along the eastbound lane of Interstate 155 in Dyer County.
